ABSTRACT
The article focuses on Ansar El Mahdi, an Islamic insurgency network associated with Osama Bin Laden was believed to have recruited soldiers and even officers in Morocco. According to intelligence sources, the network has recruited officers from the military and intelligence services as part of a plot to destabilize the kingdom. Over 50 people have been arrested as suspected members in El Mahdi. Soldiers who joined the group were reportedly vocal opponents of the U.S. and sought to support Al Qaida in Iraq.
