ABSTRACT
The article reports on the participation of JSTOR in the Iraqi Virtual Science Library (IVSL) in Baghdad, Iraq. IVSL is managed by the National Academies of Science and Defense and is sponsored by the U.S. Departments of State and Defense. The country's engineering and international standards lag more than 20 years behind international standards as stated by the National Academies. IVSL provides a Web portal to the critical technical and scientific information that Iraqi scientists and engineers will need in rebuilding and modernizing the country.
