This article focuses on the indirect involvement of Cox Communications Inc. in the investigation being conducted by the California Attorney General into leaks coming out of the board of Hewlett-Packard Co. The investigation was confirmed by Hewlett-Packard based on its filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The investigation focuses on an allegation that the company hired private investigators to probe leaks to the news media allegedly made by one of its board members. The services being offered today by cable companies such as Internet access and telephone service, made them vulnerable as in the involvement of Cox Communications.
