The article reports on the status of the global production of paraxylene (PX). Among the factors that contributed to a strong demand for PX are global low inventories and delayed start-ups and production problems. It is said that the decline in the production of mixed xylene values in the U.S. could lead to manufacturers choosing to produce PX.
