ABSTRACT
The article presents tips on how parents can help their babies in minimizing pain and discomfort caused by teething. Gel or water-filled teething rings cooled in the fridge maybe soothing for the baby to gnaw on. Place an ice-cube into a clean cloth and rub it against the swollen gum. There are over-the-counter numbing gels that can be applied to the gums. Children's paracetamol can be given in case of extreme distress.
