Verizon Drops DSL Fee Under Duress

The article reports on the decision of Verizon Communications Inc. to drop a digital subscriber line (DSL) surcharge that took effect in the U.S. in August 2006. The withdrawal of DSL from the universal-service program of Verizon will result to a reduction of monthly consumer bills. The dropping of the DSL fee was caused by concerns from customers.
