ABSTRACT
The article reports on the developments regarding the manufacturing industries in Lafayette, Indiana. The biggest investment in area is at Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. which invests $230 million. Another is at Tate & Lyle which invests $100,000. According to Cinda Kelley, executive director of the Lafayette-West Lafayette Economic Development Corp., the success in the manufacturing is due to several factors including lean manufacturing, quality of work, and a skilled labor force.
