The article reports that the Michigan Legislature could vote on a plan to eradicate the single business tax by December 2007 after opponents of the tax gathered ample signature to force a vote. The Legislature must vote on the measure within 40 days. If the tax is repealed, the state may lose $1.9 billion each year.
