ABSTRACT
The article reports on the move of Timken Co. in Canton, Ohio to invest about $5 million in a new induction heat-treat line at its steel plant to increase its capacity to produce heat treated steel bars and tubing. The line will harden bars and tubes as well as enable other heat treatments such as normalizing and stress relieving. According to sources, overall plant capacity will increase across size ranges up to 11 inches in diameter as a result of the investment.
