ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the efforts of U.S. cable television networks to capture the youth viewers. The sitcom "Drake and Josh," on Nickelodeon drew more than 38 million viewers monthly and was the top regularly scheduled series on cable in the first and second quarter of 2006. Disney Channel's original movie "High School Musical" was a huge success among pre-teen audiences. The animated program "Class of 3000," will debut on Cartoon Network in November.
