MGM Insists 'Stargate' Won't Shut

Mark Stern of Sci Fi explained that series producer Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) Inc. is contractually prevented from making any new episodes of the show to air on other U.S. channels. MGM spokesman Jeff Pryor said that they intend to find a way to extend the Stargate television franchise. Stern cited low ratings as one factor behind their decision to cancel the show.
