ABSTRACT
The article focuses on singer Jessi Colter and producer Don Was' collaboration for the former's album, entitled "Out of the Ashes". Was recalls the first time he heard the songs composed by Colter. Mike Breen recorded Colter's original songs in the latter's house in Los Angeles, California. The tracking for the album was done at Cartee Day Studios in Nashville, Tennessee.
