ABSTRACT
The article reports on the move of Harry D. Sewell, acting executive director of District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency, to strengthen the agency's single-family mortgage loan program in the U.S. This move is being driven by higher interest rate and is expected to increase the issuance of tax-exempt paper for the next two years. According to Sewell, the agency will eventually serve as an integral part of housing programs through financial cooperation.
