This article offers information on the expansion of the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), an investment and retirement plan for government employees, to cover active-duty military members under the 2001 National Defense Authorization Act. Funds that may be chosen by service members are the G Fund, F Fund, C Fund, S Fund, I Fund and the L Fund. Participants are offered an immediate tax benefit.
