ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the U.S. Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) program. The two major subgroups of sensing systems of the FCS Unattended Ground Sensors (UGS) program are Tactical-UGS and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear-UGS. It can be used for perimeter defense, surveillance, target acquisition and situational awareness. Another is the Class I Unmanned Aerial Vehicle which provides reconnaissance, surveillance and target-acquisition capability for dismounted soldiers.
