ABSTRACT
The article highlights the 17th Annual State of Logistics Report, which shows the performance of the logistics market for 2005. Logistics spending grew due to a rise in interest costs, as well as an increase in inventories. Globalization is driving much of the demand, and the demand for global transport may be driving ahead of the supply side's ability to invest in capacity, which is shown in the continued placing of orders for new and larger containerships by carriers.
