ABSTRACT
The article reports that Body Mass Index measurements are not useful in older people and should be replaced by waist-hip ratios. The study found that BMI overestimated risk of mortality from excess weight in those over 75 and might also underestimate the risks of low body weight. Waist-to-hip ratio predict the risk of circulatory deaths after adjusting for BMI.
