ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the results of a research conducted by the New Buildings Institute in the U.S., indicating that approximately 100 new commercial buildings were designed to be more energy efficient than required by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers Standard 90.1-2001. Information on a provision of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 that encourages improved energy performance in commercial buildings is also presented.
