ABSTRACT
The article features the new miniaturized memory-stacking packaging technology for feature-rich cellular handsets from Tessera Inc. The modern phones now contained many capabilities, including multimode operation, electronic mail connectivity, photography and entertainment which require a memory to support it. The author remarked that because of space constraints, the memory packaging in cellular telephone handsets need a memory packaging as a solution. Tessera has developed a new stackable memory using an innovative microcontact for the electrical connections that is thin in size, individually testable, flexible and has stackable slices.
