ABSTRACT
The article presents a summary of the latest information from the major medium and heavy-duty engine manufacturers for apparatus buyers in 2007. The caterpillar will continue to use its proprietary ACERT technology for medium and heavy duty truck engines and added a Clean Gas Induction system and a self-regenerating diesel particulate filter. The Cummins Engine Co. will continue to use exhaust-gas recirculation and variable geometry turbos as the basis of its emissions control system. INSET: NEW ENGINES NEED NEW MAINTENANCE.
