The article examines the exclusion of Ericsson Inc. in the team established by Verizon Wireless to develop its Advances to Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystems (IMS) reference document for enhancements to the IMS standard. The team is composed of Lucent Technologies, Cisco Systems Inc., Nortel Networks Corp., Motorola inc. and Qualcomm Inc. Officials at Ericsson Inc. claim that the reason it is excluded in the team is because it is not one of the core vendors of Verizon.
