ABSTRACT
The article outlines the five common mistakes that hinder companies from purchasing a quality employee assistance programs. Corporate executives must not rely on consultants and brokers for vendor selection because human resources generalists are overburdened and lacking specific expertise in health care and benefits purchasing. The need for companies to evaluate programs based on the outcomes they achieve is emphasized.
