ABSTRACT
The article focuses on handling various adware and spyware. Adware and spyware have caused personal computers to crash and have drained information technology resources and business productivity. The Radicati Group Inc. predicts that anti-spyware spending will grow to more than $103 million by 2009 as businesses recognize risks associated with such programs. Spyware slows down desktops and affects worker productivity as well as hogs bandwidth. It is can create undesirable changes to a computer and collects information without consent, usually for financial gain. It is a complex threat that requires multiphase and multi-layered defenses. The best defense against it is through reasonable steps in preventing and detecting the program.
