ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the impact of the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) legislation on the telecommunication expense management (TEM) of businesses in the U.S. David Spofford, CEO of Invoice Insight, expect clients requesting that the TEM system facilitate a SOX-compliant approval process. Meanwhile, John Shea, vice president of marketing for Rivermine, does not see a significant impact from SOX audits or efforts to comply. TEM providers who offer solutions as a service will be standardized by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants through the Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 auditing requirements.
