ABSTRACT
The article presents information about MTV network which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The network started its services in the U.S. on August 1, 1981. In 1985, the network started a programme of brand extensions with the introduction of Video Hits One. As the advent of digital satellite started to bring down the cost of distribution bandwidth, MTV began to launch contry-specific versions of the channel in 1997.
