The article presents the 2006 combine derby in Lind, Washington. In Lind Washington, people of the wheat farms seem to divide themselves into red and green camps. This is according to the combines they use for cutting wheat. Combines are the giant machines that lumber on through their wheat fields. They are the International Harvesters, painted red from the factory and the green John Deeres. The Combine Demolition Derby started as a centennial town's celebration in 1988. Bill Loomis from the International dealership conceived of the derby. It has been since become an annual event.
