ABSTRACT
The article reports that three major convenience store chain operators in Japan namely Lawson Inc., FamilyMart Co. and Circle K Sunkus Co. have agreed to jointly develop and market soft drinks and tea in order to reduce procurement costs and compete with industry leader Seven-Eleven Japan Co. The three companies may also expand the partnership in other areas depending on the success of sales of soft drinks and tea.
