ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the proposed coal-to-olefins (CTO) joint-venture project between the Shenhua Group and Dow Chemical. The CTO project, which is in the Shaanxi province of China, will be able to produce 1 tonne of olefins and 3 metric tonnes of methanol as olefin feedstock each year. Both companies are still working on the details of the joint venture and have yet to seek government approval.
