ABSTRACT
The article deals with the manpower shortage facing the chemical industry in India. A major petrochemical producer complained that chemical engineering graduates from India's top colleges are not interested in joining the industry. Mass resignation of plant engineers that are moving to the Middle East also contributes to the shortage. Reliance Industries passed a resolution in a board meeting to offer employee stock options that are proven by several IT companies to be an effective instrument to attract talent.
