ABSTRACT
The article reports on the financial performance of Rohm and Haas for the second quarter of 2006. The chemical firm's net earnings fell 7% to $166m, mainly because of costs related to the pending sale of its automotive coatings business, which made a $26m loss during the quarter. Group net earnings from continuing operations rose 12% to $192m, buoyed by a strong performance from the electronic materials division.
