ABSTRACT
The article presents news briefs on the Asian chemical industry. China Blue Chemical, a fertilizer unit of China National Offshore Oil Corp., has won approval from the Hong Kong stock exchange listing committee for a $400m initial public offering. Kobayashi Pharmaceutical said sales in the fiscal first quarter of 2006 rose 2% compared with the same period in 2005. Sabic has released a debt issue worth $800m, opening up the non-equity capital market sector in Saudi Arabia.
