Shopping on HSN Gets Remote

The article reports on the decision of Saint Petersburg, Florida-based shopping channel HSN to allow Cablevision Systems Corp. and Time Warner Cable subscribers to purchase merchandise using their television remote controls. Such concept of shopping indicates a natural evolution in television shopping. Based on an Oxygen Media survey, remote control shopping appeal to women consumers. The network also intends to launch video-on-demand and mobile telephone services.
