SanDisk Names Pres to Oversee Flash Alliance

The article reports on the appointment of Atsuyoshi Koike as president of SanDisk Ltd. (SDKK), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SanDisk Corp. in Japan. Koike's primary focus will be on technology and Fab operations at SanDisk's flash wafer development and manufacturing facility at Yokkaichi. At that location, SanDisk and Toshiba have partnered for a new joint venture called Flash Alliance Ltd., a $3 billion 300 millimeter NAND wafer fab announced in July 2006, of which Koike will oversee the operation.
