ABSTRACT
The article discusses the author's perspective on the development of the city planning profession in the U.S. She notes that accredited planning programs in several universities in the country are doing well with the help from the local professionals by integrating students into their activities. She emphasizes that the consolidation of the American Planning Association with the American Institute of Certified Planners solidified city planning in the country. She adds that city planners need to the assert the profession in an understandable way by being more positive to themselves and to the world.
