ABSTRACT
The article reports on the provision set by the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts on the lien rights of subcontractors or suppliers provided under the Massachusetts Mechanic's Lien Law. Under the ruling, the lien rights of subcontractor or supplier that fails to avail itself of the procedural protection will be waived on the default of the general contractor or on the owner's payment of all sums due to the general contractor.
