ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the publicly traded independent exploration and production companies with operations in the Gulf opting to sell out due to the hurricane season, at least from the shallower waters of the Continental Shelf where current production is on decline and the buyers are likely to be private equity funds attracted by the quick returns and low valuations.
