ABSTRACT
The article discusses cycle in commodity prices worldwide. In 1950, the outbreak of the Korean War pushed the price of wool to a pound, which made up 50 percent of Australia's export. In 1970, reflected strong growth in the global economy which the world would soon run out of commodities and the successes of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries cartel in raising the price of oil. Nowadays, every one wants to own an iron ore mine exporting to China.
