ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the cause of the possible spread of the barley spotting disease ramularia in Great Britain according to diagnostic tests conducted by plant pathologist Simon Oxley. Seeds from the stocks grown on a glasshouse proved the presence of ramularia on developing plants. Oxley emphasises the need to develop long term plans for varietal resistance.
