Fresh calls to close Doha talks

The article on the plan of European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso to tackle the issue of Doha Development Round of world trade discussions in a G8 meeting of world leaders in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Barroso stated that he would bring up the issue with other world leaders. The World Trade Organization intends to reach an outline agreement for cutting farm supports, import barriers and export subsidies by the end of July 2006 but has encountered trouble in Geneva at the end of June.
