The article reports that the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority in Chicago, Illinois has closed its fiscal 2006 in June 2006 with a $2.3 million balance in its tourism-related tax revenue. The authority has met its June debt service payment on its $1.1. billion convention center expansion bond issue without tapping state, sales taxes.
