The article focuses on the need for metals suppliers to improve their material sourcing operations in light of increased competition and higher transportation costs. Companies must optimize their current inventory and simplify sourcing. Built-in real-time nesting and optimization are required by companies for use of the best material and cutting to meet customers' specifications.
