ABSTRACT
The article looks at the operations of in-store food service units in the Second 100 group of the 2006 survey of Nation's Restaurants News. Wal-Mart Stores and Target Corp. host outside foodservice brands. Wal-Mart has added Blimpie Subs and Salads and Subway to its roster of tenants. McDonald leased space at Wal-Mart for more than ten years. Warehouse club chain Costco Wholesale is operating its own brand. Barnes & Noble Cafes sell premade sandwiches from outside vendors.
