ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the success of women motion picture directors in France. Some of these women directors that achieved international recognition include Agnes Jaoui, Claire Denis and Catherine Breillat. This situation is being compared to the popularity of women directors in the U.S. French women directors account for 20 to 25 percent of the motion pictures released per year.
