ABSTRACT
The article characterizes the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel as the clash of primitive ideology with Enlightenment democracy. The author defends Israel's right to attack Lebanon after the kidnapping of their soldiers. The response is not a question of proportionality but one of securing Israel's right to exist as a state.
