Producers miss their targets

July 2006

The article reports that polymer markets see June 2006's price push fall short, but sellers remain determined to pass on rising costs in July 2006. Polyethylene (PE) faired better than polypropylene, boosted by a tighter supply chain globally. PE producers hope for hikes of up to €50/ tonne in July, but this is unlikely given that demand will slow during the holiday period. INSET: 'BUOYANT' PVC TO STAY STRONG; HIKES DISAPPOINT.
