The article reports that Europe's plummeting chlorinated solvents sales look set to stabilise by the end of 2007 when the new Solvents Emissions Directive is fully implemented. Sales in the EU-25 countries, plus Norway, Switzerland and Turkey, fell only 2% last year and totalled 216 000 tonne, down from 220 000 tonne in 2004. Industrial sales declined 15% last year to 28 000 tonne, and have slumped 89% from 62 000 tonne since 2001.
