Speaking at the 56th Nobel Laureate meeting, he pointed to future advances in chemistry in the areas of energy production, high-capacity information storage and processing, food production and disease prevention. The meeting, which took place in June 2006 in Lindau, Germany, was dedicated to chemistry.
