ABSTRACT
The article reports on the increase in the overall producer price index and core rate for June 2006 in the U.S. The 0.5 percent increase in producer price index was attributed to the increase in food and energy prices. The increase in core rate was driven by higher prices for passenger cars and light motor trucks. Prices of intermediate goods rose 0.7 percent and was attributed to the increase in prices for intermediate energy goods.
