The article presents the results of "Private Placement Letter's" annual buy-side survey. The investment pace increased to $50.1 billion from the $43.5 billion invested in 2004, a 15.2% increase. Several of the respondents agreed that private placement served as an alternative asset class investment because of financial covenants, protections and the diversification it provided.
