ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the book "Boomerang: The Failure of Leadership in the Second Intifada," coauthored by Raviv Drucker and Ofer Shelah, fellows of the Nieman program in 2003. The book was published in Jerusalem by Keter Books in 2005. The review of the book by writer David Dabscheck published in the "Foreign Policy" periodical contains the charge that the pullout of the Israeli government from the Gaza Strip was concocted more to protect Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon from a looming corruption indictment than to protect the country's national security. The book contains interviews, examinations of classified documents and accounts from top-level officials.
